Ahhh...Spring Break! The fastest week in the school year! That, however, is not the direction I wish to take today. Instead, I will focus on the things that I was able to do.
On Monday of the week I went to Plano and had lunch and went bowling with Kristin and the boys...well, all except Tanner. He went with us but, for obvious reasons, didn't bowl. In fact, he barely outweighs the ball that Carter used. Lol! It was fun and I enjoyed my time with them.
Tuesday morning we set out in the RV for our week of camping at Caddo Lake State Park. We hadn't been there before so we didn't quite know what this park would offer. Located just outside of Jefferson, TX, the park obviously has a lake, but it also has nature trails for hiking, and extra large spaces for camping. People there camp in tents, RVs, trailers, and there are even cabins you can rent, too, but we didn't need that. We pulled in and set up our campsite and began the "job" of relaxing. We didn't get there until after 2:00 pm on Tuesday so we just sat around, read a bit, sat outside and enjoyed the smell of campfires, had dinner and went to bed. Wednesday was pretty much the same...reading, napping in the hammock, playing Ladder Golf, walking around the park, etc. Truly a good, relaxing day. Thursday we drove about 45 minutes to Shreveport where we visited several casinos. We mostly played Blackjack. I only put $20 in one slot machine. Other than that I was playing blackjack. I won at Diamond Jacks, but unfortunately that luck didn't follow me to Sams Town or Eldorado. Friday and Saturday was more reading, game playing, hikes on the nature trails, napping, etc. It was very relaxing. Sunday we slept in, ate breakfast and then began the task of packing up the hammock and games and preparing to return home.
This is probably one of the most relaxing spring break vacations I have had in a long time. No timetable. Just wingin' it. Great!!
Here are a few of the almost 200 pictures that I took:
