Woke up this morning feeling much better than I did last night. We decided to do some "off strip" gaming, so we picked up the boys and drove to "Palace Station Casino." My opinion? Big Mistake!!! I broke even there, so it's not bitterness talking. I played Blackjack the whole time I was there and I have never experienced such rude and argumentative dealers. One dealer argued with this player (not me) who was probably drunk and who was making comments the whole time. DON'T ARGUE WITH IDIOTS! YOU WILL NEVER WIN! Afterwards he would mumble under his breath if not make outright comments like, "It would be nice if you knew what you were talking about." Another dealer lectured me when HE knocked my chips over and I straightened them. He said, "Security will wonder what you're up to." Uh...jerk! I'm cleaning up your mess. Don't talk to me like I'm a child!" It was a tense situation so we finally left. We did, however, have an excellent breakfast there!
Next stop, Silverton Casino. Again, I played on my same $100 for a couple of hours and left with the money I brought. This, however, was a much more pleasant experience. Friendly dealers...friendly tablemates...an all around fun time. In cases like that winning is nice, but I don't have to win to have a good time. If I can play on "their money" I'm quite content.
We dropped the boys off at their hotel around 4:00 p.m. and headed back to the RV. Each of us had tickets to different shows. We are more the "Hall & Oates" kind of tourist. There were into catching a Vegas show. I have to say that Darryl Hall & John Oates did a great show. The artistry and presentation were awesome. The venue and the crowd sucked, however, but that is another blog entirely.
Sadly, tomorrow morning we will pick them up and take them to the
airport for their flight back to Dallas. I can truly say that we have
had a GREAT time and enjoyed the "Vegas scene" with them. It was relaxed
and we enjoyed being with each other. I'm going to miss them.
After we send the boys off we plan on playing games close to home and then packing up and heading to Vegas the next day. This vacation is flying by at record setting pace. :~(
