Day 3 dawned
bright and early and COLD. When we pulled in and parked at the KOA in Williams,
AZ, we determined that we would take advantage of the nice breeze by opening
all the windows in the RV. When we went to bed that night we neglected to close
the front two windows….each thinking the other had done it. It got down into
the upper 40s that night and, as a result, I froze again and didn’t sleep.
That’s two restless nights in a row for anyone keeping count…
Anyway, day
3 being Monday, we knew that Ryan and Richard were flying out of Dallas to meet
us in Vegas today, so we packed up and pulled out. On a sidenote, we had bought
a battery charger and left it on the car all night and it was starting with
ease. Back on track, Ronnie drove the first leg of the journey and I took over
when we stopped for fuel. I got to drive the RV into Vegas…up and down the
sides of mountains with steep inclines….past Hoover Dam and beautiful Lake
Mead…and into the heart of Sin City. Gorgeous scenery. The boys texted that they
had finally landed (after an hour weather delay leaving Dallas) and were
waiting on us. Once we arrived and got the RV set up we were ready to let the
fun begin. We met the boys, walked from the Luxor Hotel on the strip next door
to the Mandalay where we had lunch/dinner at the Burger Bar. After dinner the
four of us were so incredibly tired that all we wanted was to go to bed. So,
big party people that we are, we walked back to the Luxor, dropped the boys
off, dropped $20 in the slot machine, drove back to the RV and fell asleep
watching television.
Good news!
We slept. For the first time in 3 days I had an awesome night of sleep and got
up ready to take on the world. And it’s a good thing I was…
