Day 4: Argg! My feet hurt!

Day 4: Tuesday
Remember the song with the lyrics “walk a mile in my shoes?” No? Well, not as great as it’s cracked up to be unless you have on some awesome shoes.

Tuesday morning we were up early and ready to meet the boys to walk the strip. Actually we only walked half of it…meandering down the strip, seeing the sights, noting the oddities of Vegas life, stopping to play slots every so often…just doing the tourist thing. I won $50 at the Wynn, so I was happy. We stopped at Senior Frogs for lunch (just snacks really) because we had dinner reservations at Gordon Ramsey Steak (of Hell’s Kitchen fame). After lunch we returned to the RV, took showers, got dressed (business casual attire we were told, but there were people there in shorts), and headed back to pick up the boys and go to the Paris casino which is where GRS is located. At this point I should say that I had on wedge type heels with a skirt and shirt. Trust me, this becomes important later.

We had the absolute best meal that any of us had ever eaten. Ryan even said, “I didn’t know food could taste like that.” My steak was so tender I didn’t even need a steak knife…and cooked to absolute perfection. This, following an appetizer of Ale Onion Soup which was delicious. My side dish was sautéed mushrooms. We didn’t know the sides came out in their own container suitable for sharing, but they did…and we did. The fire roasted corn was a taste that is indescribable! We followed that with one dessert and four forks…a triple chocolate layer cake with dark chocolate ice cream! Dollops of a citrus glaze gave it such a unique and delicious taste. All of this came with a hefty bill at the end, but it was well worth every penny. The food was incredible, the atmosphere awesome, and the wait staff some of the best of the best!

My dinner dates
 Selection of breads
 My steak
 Decadent dessert
 All gone!!!

After dinner we decided to walk to Treasure Island to see the Pirate Show. Remember me saying I was in heels? Yeah. It was at the end of the strip….we were basically in the middle. We walked all that way and the show was….um…awful! We gambled for a bit…dropped another $40….and then started the trek back. By the time we got back we were all hurting! There were a few times I didn’t think I would make it back…but we did…and bed NEVER felt so good!

::side note:: I am wearing a fitness tracker. It measures lots of things…but one of the things it measures is the number of steps you take each day.  I took over 23,000 steps today!!! Many of those in heels. Remind me to never do that again!!!
