Day 18: June 24, 2013

We got up this morning and decided to drive the "Turquoise Trail" through several Santa Fe towns and artist communities. Not much happening for a Monday. The scenic drive, after Yellowstone and the Tetons, wasn't exactly scenic. We did, however, drive to Sandia Peak and took the tram to the top where we ate at "High Finance." The food was plentiful and delicious. The view was phenomenal...a panoramic view of over 11,000 acres! It was 54 degrees at the top of the mountain and the wind was howling when we first arrived there. I don't know of many June 24ths when I have said, "I'm cold!"

After our excursion to the top we drove into Santa Fe looking for a doggy boutique called Pooch Pantry. Guess which is the only day of the week they are closed. That's right...Monday. So, off to WalMart for some essentials and then back to the RV. We pull out tomorrow morning and should be within 4 hours of home by tomorrow evening when we stop.
