Ka ching! Ka Ching! But not for me...

On Friday I hopped in the car with Ryan, Richard, Yola (Richard's sister) and Juan (Yola's significant other) and we headed out to Winstar. Richard and I wanted to attend the Olivia Newton John concert and the others wanted to gamble. It was Yola's birthday so...

On the way to Oklahoma we stopped for dinner at Texas Land and Cattle just south of Denton. Thank goodness the hostess sat us in front of the fireplace because that was the coldest restaurant I have ever been in...probably. It was freezing! The food, however, was delicious. We ate, warmed ourselves by the fireplace and headed back to the car. On to Winstar.

We arrived at the casino at around 7 pm...two full hours before the concert started. We gambled a bit but I just didn't seem to be in the mood. No machines calling out to me. I was down $20 when I went into the concert venue.

As an aside, let me say that Olivia Newton John was great! A fun concert...she sang all the songs you would expect her to sing...everything you know her for (yes, including Grease!). She still has a great voice and great moves for a 64 year old woman! The concert lasted about 90 minutes and then Rich and I rejoined the others...who were nowhere near ready to leave. Ryan was down about $200 but I stood and watched him win all that plus more in one spin! Then I watched Yola win $289 on the bonus round of Goldfish. She was playing 40 lines at a penny a line! I went off to see if my luck had improved...it hadn't...and Yola came back showing us a ticket where she won another $484 on the second spin of a $1 machine. For anyone keeping count that's over $750. Not bad!! None of the rest of us had any luck but I only lost $20 total by the time we FINALLY left the casino around 1:30 a.m.

I made it home and got in bed a few minutes after 4 a.m. and slept like I'd been awake for years! In fact, I never even got out of my jammies on Saturday! It was awesome!

In the offing we have a trip to Durant planned for New Years Eve. A little gambling accompanied by two concerts...KC and the Sunshine Band and Three Dog Night! Then there's our "Yellowstone Trip" planned for June, 2013.

So much fun to be had!!
