Day 12: June 18, 2013

We left Yellowstone National Park this morning and headed to Grand Teton National Park...a short two hour drive. We arrived too early to check in so we went to the main part of the campgrounds and walked through the General Store and the grocery store. Afterwards we walked over to the Colter Restaurant and had lunch. I can now proudly claim that I have eaten a huckleberry...a first for me. The fact that it was garnish on a huckleberry margarita is immaterial. The food was delicious and we had a very nice park ranger give us information about the hiking trails nearby.

We drove over to the RV park and checked in and set up camp. We were about 100 yards through trees from THE MOST MAGNIFICENT VIEW ever! A crystal clear lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains complete with a waterfall cascading down the side of the mountain. This is our view out our door and windows!

I took a short nap and later Ronnie, Beau and I walked down to the lake. I snapped a few pics while Beau was "beach bully" and then we walked back to the RV. We sat outside in our lawn chairs to enjoy the scenery and watch the people walking by. Imagine our surprise when we recognized a dog from the campsite in Yellowstone! His "mom" came and sat with us and visited for about an hour. Her name is Bonnie and while she currently lives in California, she is originally from New York. So very nice and friendly. Another couple from Glenrose, Texas came by and said "hi." It was so enjoyable just sitting outside surrounded by beauty and meeting and visiting with new people.

When it started getting dark and cooling down we came inside for dinner, showers and a movie. Another great day on this vacation!!
